HUMANITARIAN HELP: AIDS and tuberculosis in an uncontrolled area

The AICM Foundation, with the support of the World AIDS Foundation, the Swiss Confederation and several activist associations, was able to provide first aid in the uncontrolled territories of Donetsk and Luhansk region to thousands of patients in 2018, many of whom were forced to stop their antiviral treatment with negative consequences. Other patients spent all their savings buying appropriate contraband drugs. Later, in 2019 and 2020, AICM was able to provide laboratory materials, reagents, and specific treatments for HIV-positive pregnant women. The treatment allowed to maintain the care of all patients in this region for more than 2 years.

Also, in 2019, thanks to donations from institutions, antibiotics were provided for the treatment of tuberculosis, including resistant strains.
