AICM Ukraine Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Center

01.12.2010

Since 2008, the Fund has been raising money and selecting a team to create the first specialized Rehabilitation Center in Ukraine for patients with spinal cord injuries. Every week, about thirty patients who survived complex injuries after an accident leave specialized Kiev hospitals without any serious recovery program. Unfortunately, most of them return to their home, having no opportunity to restore the elementary motor and basic functions of the body.

Currently, the AICM team is visiting various places near Kiev and is looking for opportunities to create such a rehabilitation center that would be able to receive about 30 patients every week for a 4-week rehabilitation course. Our goal is to launch the center in spring 2011.
