New brochure from AICM in Ukraine:
A new brochure from AICM in Ukraine: "How to Understand and Accept Chemotherapy", which has become the second informational brochure on Cancer, will be published later this year. Circulation of 90,000 copies of the previous brochure "What if your loved one is diagnosed with cancer?" has already been distributed throughout Ukraine, and its new edition is being prepared for release. The new brochure will also be distributed free of charge in all oncological dispensaries in Ukraine. The editorial group includes 12 authors, including oncologists, oncological psychologists, nutritionist and cardiologist. This brochure was written by 5 French doctors who work at the Institut l'Institut Gustave Roussy (Villejuif), the Groupe Hospitalier Universitaire de la Pitié Salpétrière (Paris) and the European Center Européen Georges Pompidou (Paris). This 140 page Chemotherapy brochure includes a Personal Diary to help patient and doctor keep track of treatment and side effects. Despite the fact that Chemotherapy is the main treatment for Cancer and that in Ukraine more than 50% of oncological diseases are detected at advanced stages, there is currently no complete information brochure on Chemotherapy. This brochure explains the chemotherapy treatment and its side effects in an accessible way. The purpose of this brochure is to provide an easy-to-understand explanation of what chemotherapy is, what it does, how it works, and how to live your daily life during treatment, which is fundamental to the fight against cancer. It will help many patients stay on the proposed treatment and continue to follow up after completing cancer treatment. In 2013, a new brochure is planned on the topic "Our Lifestyles and Cancer", which will touch upon the role of Smoking, Alcohol and Nutrition in the development of Cancer.
